This segmented vessel, composed of 168 individual pieces, stands as the thinnest and lightest work in the entire collection. While much of this series explores the philosophical depths of Iranian geometry, this piece is a celebration of the technical discipline required to bring those concepts to life.

The focus here is on the physical depth of the work. The Gereh inlays are carved nearly a half-inch into the wood—a depth that pushes the limits of the material. Operating at this scale introduces a host of technical challenges, from the risk of wood chip-outs to the frequent breakage of delicate router tips. Each inlay in this collection requires between 4 to 6 hours of focused execution, a process that demands absolute patience to achieve such a seamless integration between the walnut and maple.

The Geometric Gereh Lineage

The pattern belongs to the eight (Hasht) family of geometry and is known as Kar-e-Hasht. This specific arrangement is part of the historical architectural legacy found within Chehel Sotoun in Isfahan.
